The Analog Combo Simulator Adapter module for the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller provides one analog input signal for an analog input module and monitors one analog output channel in an analog output module. The simulator has one potentiometer capable of adjusting the input signal within the range of -10V to +10V. The potentiometer provides a voltage input signal for one analog input channel. The module is also equipped with a bar-graph display with the resolution of 1 V and signal polarity monitoring. The bar graph displays voltage within the range from -10 to +10 VDC. The adapter module is mounted on the 90-30 backplane and it takes one slot on the PLC. The simulator requires +5V power which is taken from the backplane.
The Analog Combo Simulator Adapter module is a valuable training and demonstration tool, since it can be used to substitute the real input and monitor the real output while running program on the PLC. It may become very useful during development to help debugging and troubleshooting programs. It may also remain permanently attached to the system to provide means of entering a set point and monitoring control values.
